Adele’s “Hello” will Only be from the Other Side in the Future

Adele fans, who couldn’t catch her on her world tour this time, may be out of luck in the future.

“You’re a light at the end of the tunnel.”
– Former British PM Gorden Brown to Adele

Adele told the audience during Sunday night’s show in Auckland that touring is not her thing and she doesn’t know if she “will ever tour again”. The concert was Adele’s last one before she formally finishes the tour in her hometown of London with four sold-out dates at Wembley Stadium this summer.

“Touring isn’t something I’m good at,” she told the Auckland crowd. “Applause makes me feel a bit vulnerable.” Stage fright and no love for travelling together might result in no future tours from Adele.

Adele sang through heavy rain at the outdoor show in Auckland on Sunday. Photos show her in a drenched dress for part of the concert and also donning a plastic poncho. She joked that she “just spent two hours in hair and makeup for nothing”.

Adele’s Achievements

At the 51st Annual Grammy Awards in 2009, Adele won the Best New Artist and the Best Female Pop Vocal Performance Awards. She was also nominated in the categories of Record of the Year and Song of the Year.

The success of her debut album 19 saw Adele nominated for three Brit Awards in the categories of Best British Female, Best British Single, and Best British Breakthrough Act. Then British Prime Minister Gordon Brown sent a thank-you letter to Adele that stated: “with the troubles that the country’s in financially, you’re a light at the end of the tunnel.”
