Captain (retd) Mohammad Safdar unleashed a tirade against the two army officers who were part of the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) constituted by the Supreme Court for investigating the Sharif family’s financial wrong doings.
He stated incorrectly that two ‘superseded’ brigadiers had dismissed Nawaz Sharif. One of the officers in question has not yet been considered for promotion.
He went on to say that Nawaz Sharif – his father-in-law – was Quaid-e-Azam reincarnate and would soon have the whole nation standing at his back

Captain Safdar is often made the butt of many jokes because of his irresponsible, and sometimes downright ridiculous statements.
He recently came under fire for labeling a 9-year-old who died after being crushed by Nawaz Sharif’s motorcade in Lala Musa as a martyr.
Most pundits believe that the only reason his antics are tolerated by the PML-N leadership is due to his marriage with Maryam Nawaz, daughter of Nawaz Sharif.
