Twitter starts Thanking ‘Kaptaan’ over Ehsaas Emergency Cash Program

The payments under Ehsaas Emergency Cash Program, introduced by the federal government to help the poor and deserving people facing hardship because of the coronavirus lockdown has been started.

A Twitter user said we are proud to be voter of Imran Khan as he really cares for poor of the country.

According to media reports, the Ehsaas Emergency Cash Program will help 12 million families by providing them financial assistance of Rs. 12,000 per family.

The total budget approved for this initiative is Rs. 144 billion although if the demand rises then a new proposal might be sent to cabinet for further funding.

According to sources, over 30.5 million people have so far applied for assistance under Ehsaas Emergency Cash Program.

The deserving families can also apply for the program by sending SMS on 8171.

DRAP approves local production of raw material of chloroquine, says Dr Zafar Mirza

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on National Health Services Dr Zafar Mirza said that the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) has approved local production of the raw material for chloroquine.

According to media reports, it has granted permission for conducting clinical trials of plasma therapy for corona patients and conducting trials of ventilators locally produced in Pakistan. DRAP has also given permission to over 50 companies to produce hand sanitisers for three months.

The licensed companies will prepare hand sanitisers in line with the directives of the World Health Organisation.
