General Kelly: “Controlling Trump is not my job”

News Desk|

White House Chief of Staff, General John F Kelly said he is neither frustrated nor planning to quit his job. The former Marine general said this in his first public appearance since taking over as Trump’s COS.

While describing the current job as the hardest he has ever done, Kelly dismissed the impressions that he is frustrated or put-off with President Trump.“Although I read it all the time pretty consistently, I’m not quitting today,” Kelly said. “I don’t believe — and I just talked to the president — I don’t think I’m being fired today. And I’m not so frustrated in this job that I’m thinking of leaving,” said the former Marine general who held the position of secretary of homeland security until his portfolio was changed in July this year.

“I would tell you, this is the hardest job I’ve ever had. This is, in my view, the most important job I’ve ever had. I would offer, though, it is not the best job I’ve ever had.”

He said:“I would tell you, this is the hardest job I’ve ever had. This is, in my view, the most important job I’ve ever had. I would offer, though, it is not the best job I’ve ever had.” He said that his stint as an enlisted marine was the best job that he did.

General Kelly’s picture got viral during last month’s UNGA address by President Trump. Kelly was seen with his hands on his head when Trump was dishing out threats to destroy North Korea. But despite talks of tensions between the two, both Kelly and Trump have dispelled the assertions with Trump going on to say that Kelly would continue to his principle state officer for the next seven years. Kelly said:“Unless things change, I am not quitting. I’m not getting fired.” He went on to say that everytime I am thinking, the media turns it into I am upset over something that is being said. ‘I look serious when I think!’

However, Trump and speculations regarding squabbles go hand in hand. Last week, both Trump and secretary of state, Rex Tillerson made public clarifications to do away with growing rumors of a rift between them, which incidentally came to the fore because of there difference approaches over North Korea.
