Recently it was said that Kareena Kapoor, who is coming on the heels of the highly successful Veere Di Wedding, has said to have increased her salary in Bollywood to match that of Deepika Padukone and Kangana Ranaut. According to the source, Veere Di Wedding allowed her to go toe to toe with the top actresses right now in Indian cinema.
“Though Veere was a four-girl project, the film’s opening and initial footfalls can be credited to Kareena’s stardom. It is only fair that she capitalise on her star power, which is why she has increased her fee for the next few films. She apparently charged a ballpark figure of Rs 7 crore for Veere Di Wedding. Her upcoming films will have her quoting Rs 10 crore-plus, negotiable depending on the number of days she is required to work on the project and the value she is bringing to the table.” The source claimed.
Kareena Kapoor is set to appear next with Akshay Kumar in Good News. Another new film she is reportedly being a part of is the sequel to the 2007 Bollywood flick Life In a… Metro, where she will reunite with her Ki & Ka co-star Arjun Kapoor. Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh are also working on another upcoming film together apart from Takht, which will release next year. She is also set to star with boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor in Brahmastra and Kalank with Madhuri and Sanjay Dutt. Ranveer for his part will be starring in a biopic on cricketer Kapil Dev soon and working on a film called Temper with Sara Ali Khan.
Takht is set to be released sometime in 2020. Rumors state that the movie will be set on the relationship and war between Dara Shikoh and Aurangzeb.
