Khan’s Teflon factor: PML-N feeling the heat!

Muhammad Talha |

After the historic Panama Case judgment, in which the former ‘Sher e Azam’ lost his tail along with his crown (even though he would have preferred the loss of the tail only), the situation within the ranks of his ruling party appears to be grim. Obviously ‘non-obvious’ internal rifts between the families of ‘Sher e Azam’ and ‘Sher Shah Suri’, jostling for power between the second-in-row ‘’, and otiose efforts of cajoling ‘Izzat Bibi’, who seems to be very cross with the Kingdom didn’t augur well. Since it became impossible to get ‘Izzat Bibi’ back to the house, the Newtons of the Kingdom launched a project ‘The Gullible Gulalai’.

The purpose of this prelude is to present in front of the audience the real face of the PML-N. This fascist party has a history that dates back to the time of a dictator, and apart from hair-transplantation, the only insignia that their ex-chief has is devising ways to denigrate others in the most unethical of ways. May it be the heinous act of distribution of BB’s controversial pics, attacking Jemaima or disowning deceased female party workers (claimed to have been killed by the MNAs of the same party), the PML-N has always managed to set new records of indecency, and thus are the pioneers of ‘politics of calumny’.

Her narrative has completely destroyed herself but may have also put some huge obstacles in the way of other female aspirants who want to contribute positively to politics.

The most recent episode of Ayesha Gulalai, in which she hurled shameful and disgusting allegations on the PTI Chief Imran Khan and that too without any proof, speaks volumes about the mindset that prevails within the PML-N. Having succumbed to the fact that they have been politically trounced by IK, the only consolation that they seek is to once again resort to ‘below the belt attacks’. This assertion especially holds true when we take into account that the Supreme Court is finding it hard to disqualify Khan over a petition filed by N League’s tainted Hanif Abbassi. Their pleas in the Apex Court for the disqualification of IK on two grounds, land acquisition of Bani Gala and Foreign Funding, seem to be rocketing towards the dustbin. It implies that they have absolutely nothing against Khan, and hence have to manufacture faulty products like Ayesha Gulalai to stage a drama that doesn’t last even for a while. Let no one be in dark, the next could be Reham Khan in tandem with Uncle Hashmi, who seems to have lost it all.

Desperate measures

This is a very dangerous trend. This reprehensible act of Ayesha Gulalai has, indeed, narrowed the already narrowed space for women to excel in politics. Her narrative has completely destroyed herself but may have also put some huge obstacles in the way of other female aspirants who want to contribute positively to politics.

Why doesn’t the PML-N understand that Imran Khan has a ‘Teflon Factor’? You simply cannot cast aspersions on him. Khan has risen way above the heads of the Noonies, and any attempts to spit on him would obviously fall back on the faces. This stature of Khan stems from two basic qualities i-e honesty and integrity.

Not all are ignorant peasants here in Pakistan. The caravan of Khan would keep marching forward and the bystanders would keep on uttering nonsense, not that Khan and the PTI have to worry much about it!

So to cut it short, all Gulalais, Rehams, Hashmis, and  Babars would go into the waste section of history while Khan would always be remembered as the ultimate warrior. The future generations of Pakistan would be taught about the annals of ‘Sher e Azam’ that how intellectual, moral and financial corruption can land you in extremely hot waters. In tandem, there would be a chapter on Khan, that how an honest and upright person can shake the en edifice of status-quo built on the foundation of treachery, mendacity, and embezzlement.
