PSL to end without Afridi

Shahid Khan Afridi, the celebrated Pakistani all-rounder will not be taking part in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) final.

The player reported through his social media account on Saturday that due to his hand injury, he will not be playing for his team in the coming final. Peshawar Zalmi, the team that is now being captained by Darren Sammy, and will be facing Quetta Galdiators on Monday, March 5.

Afridi hurt his right hand on Friday when he was fielding against the Karachi Kings and 12 stitches were later placed on his hand.

The player affirmed his withdrawal from playing in the final through a video message that was posted earlier today. The video message entails the player being advised rest for the following ten days.

The player has claimed that his performance in the T20 world cup last year was not worth applauding and therefore, it became a challenge for him to prove his abilities as a captain and as an all-rounder.

The Peshawar Zalmis have surged their way up to the finals with efficiency. The Karachi Kings, who made a comeback which took everyone’s attention, were knocked out by 24 runs. The total score set to be beaten was 182.

The Karachi Kings, captained by the Srilankan Player, Kumar Sangakkara, was only able to make 157 runs for a loss of 7 wickets.

Meanwhile in Lahore

The cricket starved Pakistani fans have much-awaited the PSL finale. The enthusiasm of the onlookers is evident in the long ques that have been formed in front of the ticket sellers.

The tickets for the PSL finale were initially being sold for 500 rupees. However, with only half a day left to the playoff and the fans being as eager as ever, the entry tickets have now reached a high price of 15000 rupees.
