PSL victors to get Rs20m from Pervez Khattak

An interesting playoff was seen on Sunday, between Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmis at Lahore, Pakistan. Quetta Gladiators received a tremendous defeat by the Zalmis with a difference of 58 runs.

With cricket returning to Pakistan, the enthusiasm of the people has been one of its kind. Pakistan is one of those countries where cricket is taken very seriously and the case was no different with the Pakistan Super League (PSL) final happening in Pakistan.

Where the general population finally had something to turn their minds too, the government officials were keenly interested as well.

Pervez Khattak, who is the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has announced a reward of Rs. 20 million for the Peshawar Zalmis. A series of tweets were made by the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf on their official twitter account explaining that the chief minister had telephoned Javed Afridi, the owner of the Peshawar Zalmis.

The conversation consisted of the chief minister congratulating the winners and inviting them to a “grand reception” which is to be held at Peshawar to honor their achievement. During this, he also mentioned that the players were to be rewarded with a sum of 20 million rupees.

Kamran Akmal was crowned as the man of the match.

The PSL title was taken over by the Zalmis with the help of a quickly achieved 40 by Kamran Akmal and spectacular bowling by Muhammad Asghar.

It is being hoped that international cricket comes back to Pakistan. Later last night, the Zalmis were seen celebrating their victory and Sammy, the captain of the Zalmis tweeted that he will be back giving Pakistani cricket fans a new hope.
