As recently as 15 July, the Range Rover<\/a> website stated that orders would begin in late 2025, with JLR confirming the same timeframe to Autocar during our testing of the test mule earlier this month<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

However, the wording on the website has now changed to 2026, and a report from The Guardian claims waitlist customers \u2013 of which there are 62,000 \u2013 have been informed about the delay.<\/p>\n

This, it is thought, could also push back the launch of the electric Range Rover Velar<\/a>, which was expected to arrive in the middle of next year following the full-fat Range Rover.<\/p>\n

JLR\u2019s reasoning is down to allowing more time for testing and for demand for electric vehicles to pick up \u2013 and is something which could also push back the first models in Jaguar\u2019s rebrand, the report claims.<\/p>\n

The production version of Jaguar\u2019s Type 00 concept, a \u00a3100,000 super-GT packing more than 575bhp, is pencilled to arrive next August. A large luxury saloon and an SUV were due to follow from 2027.<\/p>\n

In response to the report, a statement from JLR didn\u2019t confirm or deny the delay, but did state that it would launch its new models \u201cat the right time\u201d. It read: \u201cBy 2030 JLR will sell electric versions of all its luxury brands. Our plans and vehicle architectures are flexible so we can adapt to different market and client demands.
