The boss of Nissan<\/a>\u00a0has said the\u00a0new, Sunderland-built\u00a0Leaf<\/a> is in “a very strong position” to benefit from the maximum \u00a33750 Electric Car Grant<\/a> (ECG) \u2013 and that the government was right to draw up rules that reward British manufacturing.<\/p>\n

The ECG\u00a0will be available on EVs that cost \u00a337,000 or less and meet science-based targets for\u00a0emissions, both from its maker\u00a0and the country in which it is manufactured.<\/p>\n

The grants will be banded at \u00a31500 or \u00a33750, depending on how closely\u00a0a model meets those targets.<\/p>\n
