Thinking of going electric? The UK government’s Electric Car<\/a> Grant (ECG) is here to help\u00a0and the list of models it covers is growing.\u00a0<\/p>\n The new \u00a3650 million scheme provides financial assistance to car buyers by reducing the purchase price of eligible new electric vehicles (EVs).<\/p>\n Relaunched by the government in July 2025, the grant enhances the affordability of zero-emission cars with the ultimate goal of accelerating the adoption of EVs.\u00a0<\/p>\n Here, we list all the models\u00a0that are\u00a0eligible for a discount, spell out what they’re\u00a0like\u00a0and tell you how much you can save.\u00a0<\/p>\n The ECG applies to cars priced below \u00a337,000, but they must also meet\u00a0other criteria.\u00a0<\/p>\n You\u2019re probably more interested in how much you can save. The grant consists of two tiers: band one and band two. Models in band one\u00a0attract a grant of \u00a33750, while those in band two qualify for\u00a0a \u00a31500 grant.\u00a0<\/p>\n They must also meet driving range, sustainability and warranty measures. These \u2018science-based targets\u2019 – particularly the sustainability criteria – are focused on a car maker\u2019s net-zero targets.\u00a0<\/p>\n The government’s calculations to determine eligibility\u00a0include emissions produced during battery production and vehicle assembly, as well as the carbon footprint of electricity grids in the countries of production.\u00a0<\/p>\n But which cars are eligible for the grant? We\u2019ve compiled this comprehensive list of all electric car models that currently qualify for a discount, categorised by their grant bands and outlining potential savings. Read on to find out more\u2026<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Ford E-Tourneo Courier<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n Original list price: <\/strong>\u00a333,690<\/p>\n Price after grant: <\/strong>\u00a329,940<\/p>\n The E-Tourneo Courier\u00a0receives the government\u2019s larger, band one discount, meaning you can save \u00a33750. The five-seat MPV is a spacious option that offers\u00a0up to 2162 litres of cargo space, plus a range of 177 miles.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Ford Puma Gen-E<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n Original list price: <\/strong>\u00a328,999<\/p>\n List price after grant: <\/strong>\u00a325,249<\/p>\n The electric Ford Puma is a good all-around option. It has a huge boot, despite its compact dimensions. It\u2019s also fun to drive\u00a0and is one of the more efficient mid-sized electric cars on sale right now. Ford claims a range of around 233 miles and charging speeds of up to 100kW.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Citro\u00ebn \u00eb-C3\u00a0<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n Original list price: <\/strong>\u00a322,095<\/p>\n List price after grant: <\/strong>\u00a320,595\u00a0<\/p>\n Citro\u00ebn\u2019s smallest car is comfortable and relaxing, with decent levels of space for the price. It\u2019s also packed full of equipment, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, heated seats and a suite of safety tech. Its main downside is a small, 44kWh battery, which produces around 199 miles of range \u2013 and that might not be enough for some people.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Citro\u00ebn \u00eb-C3 Aircross<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n Original list price: <\/strong>\u00a323,095<\/p>\n Price after grant: <\/strong>\u00a321,595<\/p>\n The \u00eb-C3 Aircross is a larger alternative to the \u00eb-C3, bringing the model\u2019s footprint up to a more traditional SUV size. The \u00eb-C3 Aircross is available with seven seats, plus a larger battery that provides a claimed\u00a0247 miles of range. It retains its smaller sibling\u2019s comfort and equipment levels\u00a0too, which is a key selling point.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Citro\u00ebn \u00eb-C4\u00a0<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n Original list price: <\/strong>\u00a327,650<\/p>\n Price after grant: <\/strong>\u00a326,150<\/p>\n The \u00eb-C4 offers a lot of car for the money, entering the fray as a larger option for the price of some electric superminis. A 54kWh battery enables an official range of 257 miles, and soft suspension means it’s a comfortable car for most journeys.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Citro\u00ebn \u00eb-C4 X<\/strong><\/p>\n Original list price: <\/strong>\u00a328,715<\/p>\n Price after grant: <\/strong>\u00a327,215<\/p>\n The \u00eb-C4 X is the saloon counterpart to the hatch-bodied C4, offering more leg room and a larger boot. At 510 litres, the \u00eb-C4 X\u2019s cargo space is 130 litres roomier\u00a0than the hatch’s. Range figures are pretty much the same, as is its level of comfort and equipment.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Citro\u00ebn \u00eb-C5 Aircross<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n Original list price: <\/strong>\u00a334,065<\/p>\n Price after grant: <\/strong>\u00a332,565<\/p>\n The \u00eb-C5 Aircross is well equipped as standard\u00a0with features such as a wireless phone charger and a 13in touchscreen that has built-in navigation. The large EV gets a 207bhp electric motor and a 73kWh battery, which, Citro\u00ebn, says will provide\u00a0322 miles of range on a single charge.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Citro\u00ebn \u00eb-Berlingo<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n Original list price: <\/strong>\u00a331,240<\/p>\n Price after grant: <\/strong>\u00a329,740<\/p>\n The key selling point of the \u00eb-Berlingo is its cavernous interior, which can accommodate just about anything. Its boot measures 775 litres, and there\u2019s even an XL model with seven seats. Range isn\u2019t really a strong point, though: an official 213 miles\u00a0from a 52kWh battery.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Citro\u00ebn \u00eb-SpaceTourer<\/strong><\/p>\n Original list price: <\/strong>\u00a336,995<\/p>\n Price after grant: <\/strong>\u00a335,495<\/p>\n The ECG also affects vans, and the Citro\u00ebn \u00eb-SpaceTourer is one that has \u00a31500 knocked off its list price. It merits a place\u00a0near the top of your\u00a0shortlist, especially with that \u00a31500 grant saving.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n DS N\u00b04<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n Original list price: <\/strong>\u00a336,995<\/p>\n Price after grant: <\/strong>\u00a335,495<\/p>\n The new DS N\u00b04 leads the brand\u2019s design revival, and it\u2019s available with the grant when you select its entry-level Pallas specification level. There\u2019s just one electric powertrain: a 210bhp, single-motor model with a 58.3kWh battery and an official 278 miles of range.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Nissan Ariya<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n Original list price: <\/strong>\u00a335,000<\/p>\n Price after grant: <\/strong>\u00a333,500<\/p>\n Nissan dropped the Ariya\u2019s price by a dramatic \u00a36000 to make sure it qualified for the government\u2019s grant, which means it\u2019s available for as little as \u00a333,500 after the discount has been applied. All Ariyas that qualify are front-wheel-drive and come with either a 63kWh battery or a 87kWh unit with up to a claimed 310 miles of range.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Nissan Micra<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n Original list price: <\/strong>\u00a322,995<\/p>\n Price after grant: <\/strong>\u00a321,495<\/p>\n Renewed and redesigned, the Nissan Micra is back as an all-electric hatchback, this time sharing most of its underpinnings with the Renault 5. That means two battery options \u2013 40kWh and 52kWh \u2013 with an official range up to 260 miles. There\u2019s also a maximum charging speed of 100kW.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Peugeot e-208<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n Original list price: <\/strong>\u00a330,150<\/p>\n Price after grant: <\/strong>\u00a328,650<\/p>\n Peugeot\u2019s supermini becomes a more enticing electric car with the grant, which brings\u00a0its price down to \u00a328,650. For that, you\u2019ll get a 50kWh battery and a claimed 226 miles of range \u2013 though the larger-battery car also qualifies, which gives you 268 miles of range, according to Peugeot.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Peugeot e-2008\u00a0<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n Original list price: <\/strong>\u00a335,400<\/p>\n Price after grant:<\/strong> \u00a333,900<\/p>\n Like many of the models from brands in the Stellantis stable, the Peugeot e-2008 gets either a 50kWh or a 54kWh battery, offering up to 247 miles of official range. A 434-litre boot means this electric SUV is a good option for families, although it\u2019s still down on the Kia Niro EV\u2019s cargo-carrying abilities.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Peugeot e-308<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n Original list price: <\/strong>\u00a336,460<\/p>\n Price after grant:\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a334,960<\/p>\n The Peugeot e-308 offers more versatility than most because it\u2019s available as both a hatchback and an estate. Hatch models come with 361 litres of boot space, while the estate gets an impressive 508 litres. It\u2019s fun to drive,\u00a0comfortable and has a class-leading interior, as well as a good, usable range between charges. Drivers can choose from either a 40kWh or a 52kWh battery for up to a claimed\u00a0250 miles. You can charge up to speeds of 100kW\u00a0too.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Renault Alpine A290<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n Original list price: <\/strong>\u00a333,500\u00a0<\/p>\n Price after grant: <\/strong>\u00a332,000<\/p>\n With excellent handling, a punchy powertrain and old-school\u00a0charm, the Alpine A290 shows that the hot hatchback still has a place in the EV era. The 217bhp variant enables\u00a00-62mph in 6.4sec,\u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Renault Megane E-Tech Electric<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n Original list price: <\/strong>\u00a332,495<\/p>\n Price after grant: <\/strong>\u00a330,995<\/p>\n The Megane provides\u00a0a 215bhp motor and a 60kWh battery for a claimed 285 miles of range.
