The Sociology of Marriage offers interesting accounts to understand what does marriage mean? Why do we get married? What are the social implications of marriage and divorce? What is the difference between a wife and a prostitute? And, more importantly, what it means to be a wife and a husband?
Marriage does not solely mean a legal contract between the two persons which allows them to have sexual intercourse without any social restriction. It is one of the many aspects of the contract. The institution of marriage was developed for multiple reasons; to ensure the continuity of human race, to maintain social order and stability, to provide emotional care to each other and to let the love evolve in its true spirit without any disruption.
Most of Pakistanis now prat that May Allah never give anyone an ex. like Reham Khan. Ms. Khan did not only question the character of Khan but she also disgraced the institution of marriage.
As a matter of fact, all marriages are not always successful. But a marriage is never like a one-night stand with someone unknown far away from your home. A marriage is a framework developed by some very important ingredients of trust, privacy, intimacy and real love. A marriage can end but the framework and its ingredients do not. It is, therefore, often said that when a husband and wife do not find it appropriate to stay together, they still respect each other’s privacy. Nobody knows a wife better than her husband and vice versa.
Imran Khan, a cricketer-turned-statesman, remained unable to stay with his first wife for some personal and political reasons. The marriage was ended. But both Imran Khan and his ex. remained graceful and maintained the decorum of the institution of marriage. Both of them proved that an end of the marriage does not mean an end of respect, privacy or trust.

Imran Khan again ‘fell in love’. But this time he was about to make a blunder. Beauty sometimes becomes the greatest regret. In the case of Imran’s second marriage, we see it. Reham Khan, Imran Khan’s second wife, was initially happy with her husband (IK). But with the passage of time, Ms. Khan started participating in politics (she addressed a rally from the platform of the PTI). She wanted to be a political leader in Imran’s PTI but owing to the party’s anti-dynastic agenda, Imran Khan could not allow his wife to become a part of his team at political fronts.
Imran’s second marriage ended. Reham Khan decided to go away. Imran Khan who apparently loved Reham like a teenage-boy was expecting Reham to be as graceful ex. as his earlier ex. But it did not happen. Reham Khan, a wife-turned-worst-enemy, came at front, wrote a book, murdered Imran’s privacy and the grace of marriage and became the self-styled champion of women rights in Pakistan.

Frankly, politicians could never defeat Imran Khan, but beauty did. It was never a great idea to marry Reham, many of Imran Khan’s friends told us. But Imran was like a boy whose life begins and ends with the name of his “baby”. Recently, in an interview with Daily Mail Khan has said that “normally I don’t say anything about Reham, but I will say this: I’ve made some mistakes in my life, but my second marriage has to be the biggest.”
Reham Khan is an educated lady. Many of us were expecting her to show some grace off after the separation. But she hit Imran Khan below the belt. She left no stone unturned in her efforts to publically humiliate her ex. Most of Pakistanis now prat that May Allah never give anyone an ex. like Reham Khan. Ms. Khan did not only question the character of Khan but she also disgraced the institution of marriage.

It was understandable if she had used some derogatory language against Imran Khan right after her divorce. It could have been taken as an expression of anger or frustration. But her unstoppable propaganda against her ex. who has never used any single world against Ms. Khan, is deplorable.
For many people in the world, the greatest tragedy of life is not to get the chance to marry the person of their choice but Imran Khan is an unlucky lover whose ‘greatest mistake of life’ was to marry the lady he loved. This is life!
