Torrential monsoon rains triggered severe flooding in Pakistan’s recent history, washing away villages and leaving almost 10 million children in need of immediate life-saving support. Millions of people are at increased risk of waterborne diseases, while children are feared to suffer from malnutrition.

Last month, Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie visited the flood-affected areas in Pakistan. Following her visit, she penned down a painful note to the international community to continue to donate as with everything damaged-the flood victims are in continuous support of relief and assistance.

Jolie continued, “Those I was able to reach were still in shock from having fled the Taliban and now knowing the country they have fled to is in an emergency. The level of trauma and compound trauma is severe. Please learn and follow what is happening. Be aware of the climate catastrophe that we are seeing more regularly,” said the actress in her note.
