The horrifying act was carried out just before Eid-ul-Adha, but only surfaced after a disturbing video of the killing of the couple hit the internet. The disturbing video has triggered public fury and demands for immediate justice. Balochistan Chief Minister Sir Faraz Bukti confirmed 11 arrests in a post.
He revealed that the provincial government has taken suo motu notice of the moment the viral footage emerged. A case has been registered under anti-terrorism laws, signalling that this is more than just a local tragedy; it is a challenge to the rule of law. CM said those who think they can kill in the name of honour and then get away with it are wrong, and the laws will harm them and will take them to the end.
The couple, reportedly in an arranged marriage, were gunned down in what officials describe as a cold-blooded ambush carried out in the name of tribal honour. The killer is emboldened by twisted traditions. The killing was captured on video, and this footage is now serving as evidence against him.
Balochistan Government Spokesperson Shahid Rind confirmed that the case is being treated as an emergency-level priority and intelligence and security agencies are on high alert, working to determine the exact location, motives, and identify any remaining complices.
