Former foreign minister of Pakistan Bilawal says that India’s rhetoric of war is bound to fail, while Pakistan’s narrative of peace will surely win in UK.
A nine-member peace delegation of Pakistan has reached the United Kingdom after completing its visit to the United States of America.
Bilawal has urged the UK to continue to play its role in the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, and to urge and facilitate the dialogue between the two countries.
He was talking to the UK’s Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for the Middle East, Afghanistan, and Pakistan, Hamish Falconer, in London, while leading a high-level parliamentary delegation of Pakistan. The discussion focused on the escalating tensions in the region.
He also appreciated the role of the UK in negotiating and urging a diplomatic way forward to ease tensions. Bilawal briefed the Under Secretary of State on Pakistan’s position in the aftermath of the Pahalgam attack. He categorically rejected Pakistan’s involvement in the Pahalgam attack.
Bilawal Informed that India’s action involved an unprovoked attack on Pakistani civilians and civilian infrastructure. The Indian attacks left many civilians dead in injured in Pakistan.

He highlighted Pakistan’s restraint and its commitment to peace in the recent military conflict with India. He also elaborated India’s new plan to develop a ‘new norm’ of attacking Pakistan in the future.
Bilawal Bhutto called for the immediate normalization of the Indus Water Treaty and the start of the dialogue between India and Pakistan, particularly on the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, which remains central to ensuring lasting peace in South Asia.
Hamish Falconer welcomed Pakistan’s desire for peace and reaffirmed the UK’s strong interest in the preservation of peace, restraint, and diplomacy in the region.
Pakistan suffered the loss of lives during the conflict with India that lasted from May 6th to May 10th. The conflict started with India’s Operation Sindoor to avenge the Pahalgam attack, while it ended with Pakistan’s retaliatory strikes in India under the operation called Buyan um Marsoos.
