Iran strongly condemned on Thursday an "insulting" poster on a bus in a French city depicting supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, state media reported, with relations strained between the two countries.
Acting in parallel, Britain also announced fresh sanctions against Iran on Monday, freezing the assets of Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Line (IRISL).
"Those who republished this footage spread prostitution," said Simaei, adding such incidents "should not be encouraged as they are neither morally nor religiously justified."
