Syria's leader vowed to hunt down the perpetrators of violent clashes pitting loyalists of deposed President Bashar al-Assad against the country's new rulers, as a war monitoring group said over 1,000 people had been killed.
Assad fled Syria after a lightning offensive spearheaded by the Islamist Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) group and its allies, which brought a sudden end to five decades of repressive rule by his clan.
