Elon Musk’s Father Errol Accused of Molesting Children and Stepchildren

Elon Musk’s father, Errol Musk, has been accused of sexually abusing children and stepchildren since 1993,

Errol Musk, the 79-year-old father of billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk, has been accused of sexually abusing five of his children and stepchildren since the early 1990s, according to a report published Tuesday by The New York Times.

The newspaper suggested the allegations may help explain why Elon Musk, who briefly served as an adviser in Donald Trump’s second administration, rarely refers to his father publicly. Family members have reportedly sought his help in dealing with Errol, and on occasion Musk is said to have stepped in.

Errol Musk dismissed the accusations outright, telling the Times they were “false,” “nonsense,” and “absolute rubbish.” Responding to questions from The Guardian, he shared the same written replies he had sent to the Times.

Drawing on interviews, private letters, emails, and court documents, the Times reported that Errol Musk, who has at least nine children and stepchildren across three marriages, continues to wield significant influence over the family. Elon Musk himself did not respond to requests for comment.

The report said the first allegation emerged in 1993, when a four-year-old stepdaughter told relatives he had inappropriately touched her. About 10 years later, the same stepdaughter alleged she caught him sniffing her underwear. Other family members accused him of sexually abusing two daughters and a stepson.

According to police and court records, three separate investigations into Errol Musk were launched over the years. Two concluded without charges, and the outcome of the third remains unclear. Errol insisted the claims were fabricated by relatives attempting to pressure his eldest son Elon.

Elon Musk Recalls a Troubled Childhood

Elon Musk has only rarely spoken about his father, but has described their relationship as deeply troubled. In a 2017 interview with Rolling Stone, he said Errol had committed “almost every evil thing you could possibly think of.” Musk recalled moving in with his father at age 10, while his siblings Kimbal and Tosca stayed with their mother, believing at the time that his father was simply lonely.

Reflecting on the decision, he later said: “I didn’t really understand what kind of person he was … It was not a good idea.” He added that Errol always seemed to operate with “a carefully thought-out plan of evil.”
