Flyadeal to launch four direct routes between Pakistan-Saudi Arabia

Pakistan’s aviation sector is witnessing rapid expansion as both local and international airlines prepare to launch new routes. This growth reflects the country’s rising demand for domestic and international air travel.

Saudi Arabia’s Flyadeal will launch four new direct flights between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan at the end of August. The launch of the new flights between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia affirms its growing footprint in the region.

The weekly services from Riyadh to Islamabad, Peshawar, and Siakot, as well as Dammam to Karachi, will commence between August 24th and 26th, with each route operating two or three times per week with Airbus A320 aircraft.

The Riyadh-Sialkot connection is particularly notable as it reinstates direct services discontinued last year by PIA. Flyer deal will become the sole provider of flights on that route. The expansion underpins Pakistan’s emergence as the fastest-growing aviation market for Saudi carriers.

In 2024, an estimated 5.9 million passengers travelled between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, and seat capacity is climbing annually. Flyadeal entered the Pakistani market in February 2025 and started its routes between Karachi to Jeddah and Riyadh. These new flights will effectively double its service level in Pakistan.

Pakistan’s aviation sector is expanding with several new flights gearing up to enter the market. Some are local and some are foreign. Meanwhile, PIA has also restarted its services to Europe and the USA.

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced it to start direct flights between Lahore and Paris.

The flights have resumed following the lift-off ban by the European Aviation Safety Agency on PIA after five years.

Following the ban lift on PIA by the EASA in November last year, the national flag carrier resumed Islamabad-Paris flights early this year. “We can operate for any destination in Europe now (except the UK) after the lifting of the ban by the EASA. However, it depends upon traffic on specific routes in Europe,” a senior official of PIA told Dawn.

A senior official from PIA says the airline is hopeful of resuming the direct flights to the UK in a couple of months.
