Raheem’s wedding last month quickly went viral after photos and videos of the dance-filled festivities were shared on Instagram, giving audiences a colorful glimpse into the culture of Gilgit. In a recent interview with Haroon Rashid on the BBC Asian Network, the singer described how his signature Gilgit-Baltistan dance combined modern flair with traditional pride, turning his nuptials into a cultural event.
“Our wedding gave a crash course on Gilgit to all of Pakistan and the world,” Hasan said. Laughing, he recalled a meme that joked, “Hasan Raheem kept a bit of a wedding in his dance.” He added, “I would just stand up every five minutes, say ‘Stop it, it’s my wedding!’ and then start dancing again.”

The spontaneous and joyful wedding videos quickly captured widespread attention. “I was not expecting people to like it,” he admitted. “But they were like, ‘That’s some good stuff I haven’t seen before!’ I loved it.”
