The sanction follows an incident in which Babar Azam, visibly frustrated after being dismissed, struck the stumps with his bat. Match officials deemed the act a Level one offence under the ICC Code of Conduct, relating to actions that show dissent or damage to match equipment.

The ICC confirmed that Babar Azam accepted the charge and the penalty proposed by the match referee, making a formal hearing unnecessary.

Earlier, ICC announced penalties following hearings conducted during the Asia Cup.

Pakistan’s fast bowler Haris Rauf, batter Sahibzada Farhan, and India’s captain Suryakumar Yadav were found guilty of violating the ICC Code of Conduct.
