Kasim Khan, son of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, has revealed that his father is enduring extremely harsh conditions in Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi, and that he and his brother, Sulaiman Khan, are urgently exploring ways to help him.
In an interview with the U.S. media outlet Real America’s Voice shared on Wednesday, Kasim disclosed that Imran Khan is confined to a solitary cell with access to only two hours of daylight daily. The brothers have reportedly had no contact with their father since his imprisonment in August 2023, following a conviction in a £190 million corruption case. Imran also faces additional charges under the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) related to the May 9, 2023 protests.

“He’s currently in very, very poor conditions, and things seem to be deteriorating by the moment,” Kasim said, describing the state of his father’s cell as “awful.” He claimed Imran is forced to shower in muddy water and that at least 10 other inmates have died due to similarly unsanitary conditions. Kasim also said his father was deprived of light for 10 days — which he referred to as a “torture tactic.”
Expressing deep concern over their inability to speak with Imran, Kasim said, “We’re looking to America right now, as it seems like our only possible way out.”

He also revealed that he and Sulaiman recently met with Richard Grenell, a close aide of former U.S. President Donald Trump. “He was very generous with his time. We spoke at length, and while I won’t go into the details, I’m very hopeful following that conversation,” Kasim added.
