The sons of former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan, Qasim Khan, and Suleiman Khan in the latest interview with Sky News says that the fear they might not see their father again is being held in a death cell.
Both the sons in an interview with The World with Yalda Hakim said that their father is being psychologically tortured in a death cell. The sons claim they have not spoken in months to their father who has been in prison since October 2023.
Qasim Khan said, “He’s been in a solitary confinement cell for over two years where he’s had filthy water, he is around inmates who are dying of hepatitis, the conditions are disgusting and also he is completely isolated from any human contact.”
He continued: “It’s getting harder to see a route out at this point. We’re trying to have faith. But at the same time, right now, the conditions are getting worse.
“It’s very hard to see a way out… We’re now worried we might never see him again.”
Sky’s lead world presenter @SkyYaldaHakim has spoken to Imran Khan’s sons, who described the conditions of their father’s prison in Pakistan.
The former prime minister has been in prison since his arrest in August 2023 on corruption charges.

Suleiman Khan says his father’s cell where he spends an estimated 23 hours a day has been described as a death cell. He said that an army spokesperson announced on Friday that Imran Khan, who was in the past shot three times, was now officially in a death cell. He added that his father was being kept in completely substandard conditions that don’t mean international law for any sort of prisoners.
Qasim says that his father has been subjected to tactics of psychological torture as even the prison guards are not allowed to communicate with him.

Uzma Khanum in her last meeting with Imran Khan in Adiala Jail echoed similar claims said that her brother was facing isolation and psychological strain in prison. Meanwhile, speaking on The World with Yalda Hakim on Tuesday, the government’s spokesperson Musharraf Zaidi denied allegations that Imran Khan is being held in solitary confinement. He told Sky News that Imran Khan had been in prison for about 860 days and had 870 visits, despite the fact that he’s supposed to get one visit per week before launching his political career.
In 2023, spokesperson to the Pakistani PM, Mosharraf Zaidi, tweeted: “Imran Khan’s arrest is disgraceful and reconfirms that Pakistan will not be able to become a normal country any time soon.”

Kasim said his father would “never take a deal and leave all of his other party members in jail to die and fester in these jails… instead he stays in those conditions, happy to rot and it means that he can move towards his goal of ridding Pakistan of corruption, a goal that he has stated to us a million times”.
Meanwhile, his three sisters Aleema Khanum, Uzma Khanum and Noreen Khan along with other party workers and supporters are continuously staging a sit-in protest outside the Adiyala jail where he’s being held in solitary confinement and is not allowed to meet anyone.
A few week ago, government has announced a ban on meeting with Imran Khan. The government has declared him a security threat for Pakistan.
