The controversy erupted after videos surfaced on Malik’s channel in which he used crude and offensive language in Hindi—apparently under the assumption that locals wouldn’t understand. In the clips, he made rape threats, referred to women as “maal,” and even asked viewers if he should sexually assault his Turkish tour guide. Another video showed him berating a local shopkeeper with abusive language for not displaying an Indian flag in the store.

Though Malik has since deleted his YouTube and Instagram accounts, several clips continue to circulate online. Turkish social media users who understood the language flagged the videos, prompting widespread backlash and calls for action.
According to a report by Turkiye Today, local police have taken Malik into custody, though no official statement has been released by Turkish authorities regarding the arrest or the status of the investigation.

This incident comes amid strained diplomatic relations between India and Turkey, particularly after Ankara voiced support for Pakistan in the wake of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The videos have further fueled tensions, especially as many Indian tourists had already called for a boycott of Turkey.
