Udaipur Superintendent of Police (SP) Yogesh Goyal stated that the incident occurred on Monday night following a party at a café. “The accused took the woman from the party to his rented accommodation in Sukher, where he sexually assaulted her,” Goyal said. The accused, identified as Pushparaj Ojha, also known as Siddharth, is currently absconding.
Badgaon police station house officer Pooran Singh confirmed that the survivor is receiving treatment at a private hospital. “We will record her detailed statement once she is discharged,” Singh added.
According to the FIR, the French woman arrived in India on April 17 and reached Udaipur by bus on June 22. She recounted that she and her friends went to The Greek Farm for dinner and a party on Monday night, where a man later joined their table. He invited her to step out for a smoke and then persuaded her to go for a drive.

In her complaint, the woman said she repeatedly asked the man to drop her back at her hotel, but instead, he drove her to his apartment. Her phone battery had died, and when she asked him for help to recharge it, he allegedly forced himself on her and raped her.
The police said the man dropped her back at her hotel around 6 a.m. on Tuesday. She then informed her two friends about the incident. As her health deteriorated, they took her to a private hospital and contacted the police, who filed an FIR based on her initial statement.
A police team has been formed to track down the accused. Authorities have also informed the French Embassy in Delhi about the incident.
