Jeff Bezos, Lauren Sanchez’s lavish wedding in Venice attracts protests

A three-day celebrity-studded celebration in Venice faces growing criticism over hypocrisy, environmental impact, and Amazon’s controversial labor practices.

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and TV presenter Lauren Sanchez’s wedding is attracting criticism online as the couple tied the knot in Venice earlier this week.

A whole list of celebrities, including reality stars, actors, and royals, have traveled to Venice for this lavish wedding. Oprah Winfrey, Orlando Bloom, Kylie Jenner, and Ivanka Trump were just some of the celebrities seen on the boats and streets of the Italian city on Thursday and Friday.

The wedding festivities are expected to last three days. The wedding festivities will end with a large party for the married couple and their hundreds of guests on Saturday. The event has transformed Venice into a glittering hub of international glamour- but not without controversy.

The wedding has attracted a variety of protest groups in Venice, including locals fighting over tourism to climate change activists. These protest groups are voicing concerns against large-scale events in the fragile city.

200 members are on the guest list of Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s Wedding. The dress of Lauren was a custom-made design by Dolce & Gabbana and was a year and a half in the making. The high-neck lace corseted gown had 180 silk chiffon-covered priest buttons dotting the front.

While the wedding has been a grand affair, it has not escaped mockery on social media. Users have pointed out the extravagant affairs of the wedding against the highly credible accusations against Jeff Bezos’s Amazon.

The company has been frequently accused of poor safety conditions and a terrible working environment for its workers. The wedding is rumored to have cost over $20 million. Several people have mocked and all its pre-events as tacky.

Interestingly, the guests were flown in on over 90 private jets. As users say, it makes a mockery of the claims that they have made about supporting climate-conscious activities or ventures. This detail has sparked widespread criticism, particularly from environmental activists and climate-conscious users online.
