The family of the dead journalist Khawar Hussain has arrived from the USA in Karachi following the news of his death. According to the details, Khawar Hussain’s parents and brother landed at Karachi airport and left for Sanghar to oversee the case proceedings. The body of Khawar Hussain was found in his car in a hotel outside Sanghar on the weekend.
Speaking to the media, Khawar Hussain’s father described him as a brave man, rejecting the possibility of suicide. His family further said that they had no disputed enmity with anyone, and hence they have demanded a thorough investigation into the accident.
Meanwhile, the CCTV footage of Khawar Hussain moments before his death has also surfaced. Earlier, a fact-finding committee was formed by the Sindh police to investigate the suspicious death of journalist Khawar Hussain, who was found dead in his car in Sanghar. According to the notification issued, the committee will be headed by Additional IGP CTD Azad Khan.
Tarfan Baloch and SSP Sanghar Abid Baloch. The committee is instructed to submit the report of the incident within two days to the IGP Sindh. The Sindh government has also decided to form a medical board to examine the body of Khawar Hussain. Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar said that the board comprising senior doctors and forensic experts will conduct a medical examination.

Police said that they have collected the fingerprints, CCTV footage, and other material for forensic review. Video evidence shows Hussain entering and leaving a local restaurant twice before returning to his vehicle, where he stayed for nearly two hours, investigators said. Police have also recovered one of the two mobile phones in use, while the other remains missing.
The investigators say that it may have been misplaced, dropped, or left behind, and efforts are underway to trace it. The recovered device has been sent for forensic analysis. Police say that the investigation is being conducted to ascertain the exact sequence of events leading to the journalist’s death. The journalist has been working in Karachi for nearly 10 years, working with different media organizations during his career.
Chief Minister of Sindh, Murad Ali Shah, offered condolences to the family and has instructed Sindh Inspector General of Police, Ghulam Nabi Memon, to assign the case to the best investigators and leave no stone unturned in the investigation. Sindh Governor Kamran Tisori also expressed grief over Hussain’s death and asked the authorities to carry out a probe into the incident.
