The case was registered by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), which alleges that Rehman promoted online betting and gambling applications — including Binomo and 1xBet — through his YouTube channel, according to the FIR.
One of Pakistan’s most-followed digital creators, Rehman has uploaded more than 800 videos and has over 10 million YouTube subscribers. He was arrested on August 17, 2025, after the state filed a case against him through the NCCIA.
The FIR invokes sections 13, 14, 25 and 26 of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016, along with sections 294-B and 420 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

Rehman remained in NCCIA custody for nearly three months before securing bail from the Lahore High Court and being released on November 26, 2025.
Following his release, he publicly alleged that he was tortured and humiliated while in custody. In a video statement issued in December 2025, an emotional Rehman claimed he was slapped, verbally abused and used as an example to intimidate a child during interrogation.
He accused former NCCIA Lahore additional director Sarfraz Chaudhry of repeatedly slapping him, using obscene language, forcing him into stress positions and arranging a video call during which a child was encouraged to verbally abuse him.
Chaudhry was dismissed from service in September 2025 amid multiple controversies, including allegations of assaulting Rehman. In October, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested Chaudhry and six NCCIA officials on charges of misuse of authority and accepting bribes.
The officials — identified as Chaudhry, Zafar, Shoaib Riaz, Ali Raza, Mujtaba Zafar and Yasir — are currently under FIA investigation for allegedly abusing their authority and taking bribes to favour a complainant in an ongoing inquiry.
