Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Quetta Gladiators posted an imposing 201 for 9 in their 20 overs. The innings began shakily, with skipper Saud Shakeel falling early for just 4, followed by Finn Allen’s dismissal for 12. However, Hasan Nawaz turned the momentum with a blistering 76 off 43 balls, smashing 8 fours and 4 sixes. He was supported by Avishka Fernando (29 off 22) and Dinesh Chandimal (22 off 13), while Faheem Ashraf provided a late onslaught with a rapid 28 off just 8 balls, including two fours and three sixes.

Lahore’s bowling attack, led by captain Shaheen Shah Afridi, played a crucial role in keeping Quetta in check. Afridi delivered a superb spell, taking 3 wickets for 24 runs. Salman Mirza and Haris Rauf took two wickets each but were slightly expensive, while Sikandar Raza and Rishad Hossain claimed a wicket apiece.

In response, Qalandars started briskly, though Fakhar Zaman fell early for 11 to Abrar Ahmed. Mohammad Naeem then took charge with a sensational innings, blasting six towering sixes on his way to 46 off 27 balls. Abdullah Shafique kept the chase on track with a composed 41 off 28 before being dismissed by Usman Tariq.

The game swung decisively in Lahore’s favor when Kusal Perera entered the crease. The Sri Lankan southpaw played a commanding innings, smashing five fours and four sixes in his unbeaten 62, and was instrumental in guiding his team home. He received strong support from Sikandar Raza, whose quickfire 22 off just 7 balls sealed the win with one delivery to spare.

Quetta’s bowlers struggled to defend the high total, despite a tidy spell from Abrar Ahmed (1 for 27). Faheem Ashraf, Mohammad Amir, and Usman Tariq took a wicket each, but their inability to contain the opposition in the death overs proved costly.

For their triumph, Lahore Qalandars received a prize of USD 500,000, while Quetta Gladiators earned USD 200,000 as runners-up. Top individual performers across categories such as best batter, bowler, all-rounder, wicketkeeper, player of the final, and player of the tournament were also recognized with generous awards.
