A deeply unsettling case of animal abuse has emerged from Lahore’s Defence area, where a woman was discovered torturing and killing animals—including rabbits, cats, and exotic species—while uploading graphic content to social media. The horrific incident triggered immediate police action.

The case came to light when JFK Animal Rescue and Shelter reported an Instagram account that had posted disturbing images and videos of animal torture and killings. “We received reports about a horrifying situation after an Instagram influencer was seen sharing content showing the torture and killing of animals, including bunnies and cats,” the shelter shared on social media.

Upon receiving the report, the shelter reached out to ASP Shehrbano Naqvi, who swiftly led a police raid on the woman’s residence.
“What we found inside was far more disturbing than expected,” JFK reported. “There were cigarettes scattered everywhere. We can’t understand her motives—whether it was related to some satanic ritual or something else. The police will determine that through their investigation.”
ASP Shehrbano confirmed that numerous animals were rescued from the home, describing the conditions as brutal and bizarre.

“There were rabbits, exotic animals, cats—kept in horrifying circumstances, with cigarettes lying around,” she said.
She further stated that the woman appeared to be mentally unwell and had been shifted to a medical facility for evaluation.
“We just returned from a case involving a girl with mental health issues who was torturing animals,” ASP Shehrbano shared in an Instagram video. “She was posting graphic images of smashing their heads—it was extremely disturbing.” An FIR has been filed against the woman. Rescued domestic animals are being relocated to JFK’s shelter in collaboration with the Pakistan Animal Rescue Centre (PARC), while exotic and wild animals have been handed over to the Wildlife Department and other concerned authorities.
ASP Shehrbano appealed to the public to exercise caution when mentally unstable individuals are in possession of animals.
“If you know someone struggling with mental health issues, please don’t give them pets,” she urged. “If you see animals around such individuals, alert their family members and prevent them from keeping animals.”
She also emphasized the importance of raising awareness about animal cruelty, warning that such behavior often escalates to broader societal violence. “Start conversations about animal cruelty,” she said. “Cruelty to animals is often a precursor to violence against children and other vulnerable groups.”
