Operation Sindoor Echoes: Modi Says INS Vikrant Made Pakistan Kneel

Celebrating Diwali aboard INS Vikrant, PM Modi praised India’s naval might and defence self-reliance, hinting at Pakistan’s growing unease.

Indian PM Narendra Modi celebrated Diwali and Monday on India’s indigenously built aircraft carrier and INS Vikrant with Navy personnel of the Indian Navy off the Goa coast, while targeting Pakistan once again in his speech. While addressing the Navy personnel, he claimed that the INS Vikrant gave sleepless nights to India’s enemy, Pakistan, during Operation Sindoor in May.

While addressing the Navy personnel, Modi said that the extraordinary coordination among the three services has compelled Pakistan to surrender during Operation Sundur. He also lauded the valour and determination of India’s security forces, saying that it was because of their efforts that the country had achieved a major milestone while eliminating Maoist terrorism.

“Just a few months ago, we saw that INS Vikrant, with its name alone, had given sleepless nights to the entire Pakistan. Whose name itself can destroy the courage of the enemy, that name is INS Vikrant. The fear instilled by the Indian Navy, the incredible skill displayed by the Indian Air Force, the bravery of the Indian Army… the tremendous coordination of the three services forced Pakistan to surrender so quickly in Operation Sindoor,” Modi said in Hindi.

PM said, “Self-reliance is essential for the armed forces to become strong. We are proud that in the past decade, our armed forces have made fast strides toward self-reliance. Our forces made a list of thousands of such items and decided that these items would no longer be imported from abroad. The result was that… most of the equipment essential for the Army is now being manufactured in the country itself. In the last 11 years, our defence production has more than tripled. Since 2014, the Navy has received more than 40 indigenously-built warships and submarines from Indian shipyards.”

Indian Prime Minister also hailed the BrahMos missile and Akash defence system, which, according to him, amplified India’s capability during Operation Sindoor.

Our missiles, like BrahMos and Akash, have also proven their capability in Operation Sindhu. The name BrahMos itself is so renowned that just hearing it makes many people anxious, wondering if BrahMos is coming. Today, many countries around the world want to purchase these missiles. Whenever I meet experts, they all express the same desire that they too want to access them,” he said.

Two days ago, Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh followed the same statement and said that every inch of Pakistani territory was now within the range of India’s BrahMos supersonic cruise missile, and suggested that Operation Sindoor was only a trailer.

“The country has confidence that our adversaries will not be able to escape our BrahMos. As far as Pakistan is concerned, every inch of its territory is now within reach of the BrahMos.”

“Operation Sindoor has proved that victory is a habit with us now. We need to maintain this habit while continually strengthening ourselves. Operation Sindoor took the trial of the BrahMos far ahead and provided practical proof,” Rajnath said, reading out from a written speech.
