Renowned Pakistani wedding photographer Irfan Ahson has spoken out about the high-profile wedding of Junaid Safdar, the son of PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz, during a recent appearance on Samaa TV’s podcast.
Ahson, celebrated for capturing the weddings of Pakistan’s elite — including those from influential political, business, and media circles — offered subtle insights without divulging too many personal details.

Reflecting on the atmosphere at the event, he hinted that the union seemed strained from the start. “You can sense the friction through the dynamics, the behavior, and the interactions,” he said, suggesting that underlying tensions were noticeable.
While the wedding had drawn widespread media attention both in Pakistan and abroad, it eventually ended in separation. Ahson attributed the breakdown to a visible lack of harmony between the two families. “The bride’s family didn’t seem to be blending in well,” he observed, alluding to an interpersonal disconnect that may have contributed to the marriage’s short-lived nature.

Despite the outcome, Ahson spoke positively about his experience working with Maryam Nawaz and her family. “They treated me with great warmth and respect,” he shared. “Junaid was also very polite, grounded, and well-mannered.”
Ahson, known for his cinematic photography style and strong social media presence, often garners acclaim for his work on high-profile events. His candid remarks have sparked discussions online, with many reflecting on the unique pressures faced by public figures in marriages that unfold under intense scrutiny.
Junaid Safdar’s 2021 wedding had made headlines for its opulence, designer outfits, and star-studded guest list. Although the reasons for the couple’s separation were never officially disclosed, Ahson’s comments mark the first public suggestion — from someone close to the event — that the signs of discord were present even during the celebrations.
