The protest, led by members of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the opposition alliance Tehreek Tahaffuz-e-Aiyeen Pakistan (TTAP), is taking place at Parliament House, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House, and the Parliament Lodges. Among those participating are senior opposition figures, including Mehmood Khan Achakzai, Allam Raja Nasir Abbas, KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, and former chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur. Authorities have sealed Islamabad’s Red Zone, deploying police and barriers around key government buildings.

The demonstrations stem from allegations by PTI that Imran Khan has not received adequate treatment for an eye condition diagnosed as central retinal vein occlusion (CRVO). According to a report submitted to the Supreme Court by PTI counsel Salman Safdar after visiting Adiala jail, the former prime minister claims he has lost most vision in his right eye. The court has ordered that specialist doctors examine him before February 16 and directed authorities to allow him phone contact with his sons.

Medical officials previously confirmed that Imran underwent a brief procedure at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences after doctors identified a condition affecting his vision. Meanwhile, opposition leaders insist he should be shifted to a private hospital and allowed access to his personal physician and family.

Government representatives reject allegations of negligence, stating that Imran has been regularly examined by jail and external doctors and received treatment, including an injection in January. Officials say any proven denial of care would constitute criminal negligence.
The opposition has warned the protest could continue through Ramadan if their demands remain unmet.
