Karachi Police claims to have arrested four suspected Indian RAW agents in a raid carried out in Qaidabad area of Karachi on Wednesday. The Special Investigation Unit of the Sindh Police and the Intelligence Agency conducted the raid on a tip-off.
SIU SSP Mohammad Shoaib Memon said that the suspects have links to the Indian Intelligence Agency. The suspects are identified as Mohammad Khan alias Gullu, Yameen Malah, Akhter Thaheem, and Ghulam Qadir alias Akash.
Police claim that they were all found to be involved in espionage activities. With their arrest, police claimed that a potential and a possible plot to carry out the terrorist attacks in the country was foiled.
SSP Memon said that two hand grenades, a Kalashnikov, a rifle, two pistols, and mobile phones were seized from the suspects. The mobile phones, believed to be containing sensitive digital material, are being sent for a forensic analysis.
“The suspects had made videos and captured pictures of the country’s sensitive installations, which they used to send to RAW using specialised software,” the SIU officer claimed.
According to the SSP Memon, the suspects admitted that they used to meet officers of RAW and the Indian Border Security Force in border areas.

The agents were arrested under a recent crackdown named Operation YALGAR. Addressing a press conference in Lahore, Punjab, Additional Inspector General of Operations Shahzada Sultan said that the police officers disclosed that two operatives, Aslam and Akbar Ali, were arrested in Bhawal Nagar while obtaining explosives directly from India’s Border Security Force.
CTD officers claimed that the suspected individuals were in contact with Indian intelligence officers identified as Raj Major Ravindra Rathore and Inspector Singh.
