“There will be no deal with Iran except UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER! After that, and the selection of a GREAT & ACCEPTABLE Leader(s), we, and many of our wonderful and very brave allies and partners, will work tirelessly to bring Iran back from the brink of destruction, making it economically bigger, better, and stronger than ever before. IRAN WILL HAVE A GREAT FUTURE,” Trump wrote.
The US and Israel attacked Iran last Saturday, openly proclaiming the goal of toppling the country’s government. Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed in the opening strikes on the country, along with several other senior civilian and military officials.
Tehran has retaliated, launching multiple waves of missiles and kamikaze drones at various targets in Israel and numerous US military installations across the Middle East. Arab nations in the Gulf have borne the brunt of the hostilities.

The US, its Israeli ally, and Iran have all expressed resolve to continue the conflict for as long as necessary. While Trump said the US had the resources to wage war “forever,” Tehran said it had had decades to prepare for the conflict and dared Washington to launch a ground invasion into the country.
