Watch: Tehran Expresses Gratitude to Islamabad During Heated Parliamentary Session

Iranian lawmakers publicly praised Pakistan for its support amid rising tensions with Israel, chanting "Thank you, thank you Pakistan" during a parliamentary session.

On Monday, members of the Iranian parliament chanted “Thank you, thank you Pakistan” in a rare and public display of gratitude towards Islamabad for its support amid Iran’s ongoing conflict with Israel.

This gesture came after Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian commended Pakistan for siding with Iran as tensions escalate across the Middle East.

Addressing a special parliamentary session, President Pezeshkian stated, “We extend our hand to all Islamic nations. The enemy is mistaken if it thinks it can dismantle our nuclear capabilities by assassinating our scientists.”

He reiterated Iran’s right to pursue peaceful nuclear energy, describing it as a “legitimate right” that the country will never relinquish. His remarks were met with resounding chants of “Thank you, thank you Pakistan” from lawmakers, underscoring the strengthening ties between Tehran and Islamabad.

The session also included heartfelt tributes to Iranian military commanders, soldiers, and nuclear scientists who were recently killed in Israeli airstrikes. Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf condemned what he called “barbaric attacks” on Iranian citizens and stressed the need for national unity in the face of external threats.

“This is a moment for resistance, not retreat. The world must understand that Iran will never compromise on its sovereignty,” Qalibaf asserted.

These developments followed Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s expression of complete solidarity with Iran amid the recent surge in missile exchanges and Israeli strikes on Iranian targets. PM Sharif called for restraint but firmly declared, “Pakistan stands unwaveringly with the Iranian people during this critical time.”
