Where is TLP Chief Saad Rizvi amid severe crackdown on Gaza rally

Mystery surrounds the whereabouts of TLP chief Saad Rizvi and his brother Anas Rizvi after police and security forces dispersed Gaza march.

Mystery surrounds the whereabouts of TLP chief Saad Rizvi and his brother Anas Rizvi after police and security forces dispersed Gaza march participants during a pre-dawn operation in Muridke, Punjab.

According to the Punjab Police, five people, including an SHM-3 protester, were killed and several others were injured during this operation. However, the authorities have not yet said anything about the whereabouts of Saad-e-Rizvi and Anas-e-Rizvi, who were leading the protest at that time.

On the other hand, around 70 TLP activists were arrested in Lahore and were remanded in an 11-day physical remand after being produced in the Provincial Courts of Lahore, Punjab, on Monday. The case was read by Justice Manzar Ali Gul of the Special Anti-Terrorism Court.

Police have accused TLP activists of vandalism and attacking and injuring police officers. Apart from the TLP chiefs Saad-e-Rizvi and Anas-e-Rizvi, the party claims that police are not sharing details regarding some members of the party’s central council who were also present on stage and have disappeared.

Video circulating on social media shows that Saad-e-Rizvi and Anas-e-Rizvi were present on the stage. On this occasion, Saad-e-Rizvi had requested the police force to use a loudspeaker in the container to stop shouting because they are not going to do anything wrong. He announced that they want to go to Islamabad to express solidarity with the oppressed Muslims of Palestine.

It is alleged that Saad-e-Rizvi, who was on the stage, picked up a pistol lying near him and opened fire directly at the SHO. As a result, the SHO was shot in the stomach and he fell, injured, and later died from his injury. However, the Punjab government has announced that they have traced the location of Saad Rizvi and Anas Rizvi and has requested both of them to surrender to the law to avoid severe consequences.

The police have already registered a case against Saad Rizvi and his brother, and more than 3,500 activists. The FIR includes over 30 sections, including terrorism, murder, attempted murder, abduction, destruction of public property, and other grave offences.
