Zardari makes major predictions about Pakistan’s political future?

PPP Co-Chairman and former President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari expressed optimism that there will be an in-house change soon. Zardari also slammed the government and said that he warned from day one about the government's inability to handle national matters.

PPP Co-Chairman and former President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari gave an insight into the country’s political future. While talking to the media outside National Accountability Bureau (NAB) court, Zardari said he is hopeful for an in-house change.

He expressed his optimism owing to the fact that both PPP and PML-N agreed to launch anti-government protests to send the ruling PTI packing. To clarify, PPP is considering tabling a no-confidence motion against PM Khan. Meanwhile, PML-N has decided to go for an in-house change after seeking approval from the party’s supremo, Nawaz Sharif. Important to note, PML-N was previously not in favour of an in-house change.

Zardari also revealed that PPP will not join the Opposition alliance Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM). “I don’t think it will happen,” Zardari said when asked about whether or not PPP will join PDM again.

PPP quit PDM in 2021 owing to disagreements with PML-N. On the issue of Yousaf Raza Gillani’s appointment as Opposition leader, PML-N issued a show-cause notice to PPP which offended the latter. As a result, PPP quit PDM but often extends its support as it shares the same mission of ousting the PTI government.

Therefore, PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif and PPP chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari met in Islamabad, Monday, where PML-N endorsed PPP’s in-house change plans.

Govt is incapable of doing anything: Zardari

Zardari also slammed the incumbent government. He said that he warned from day one about the government’s inability to handle national matters.

“Time has proven my stance that the elected people are all ineligible,” Zardari said while criticizing the PTI government. He added that the people are suffering from different issues and the government is incapable of doing anything.

Important to note, Zardari received a pre-arrest bail earlier today in the New York Property case. NAB had served Zardari a notice along with a questionnaire to provide information about his Belair apartment in Manhattan, New York. He had subsequently obtained pre-arrest bail from the Islamabad High Court to avoid his arrest by NAB.
