A Dog that Won Over Pakistani Hearts & Social Media: DG ISPR’s Pet Dog ‘Zoro’

DG ISPR Asif Ghafoor’s pet dog becomes the social media star following its appearance in Ehd-e-Wafa. Fan says he has caught more attention than the star actors Osman Khalid Butt and Ahad Raza Mir.

The pet dog of DG ISPR’s Asif Ghafoor has become a social media sensation after its appearance in the ongoing drama serial Ehd-e-Wafa. The pet dog named ‘Zoro’ featured in the first episode of drama serial co-produced by ISPR and Hum TV.

Zoro is the pet dog of Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor, the official spokesperson of the Pakistan Army’s Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR) wing. The pup turned two-year-old in May, Zoro was already a star in his capacity, winning awards. Zoro even has an Instagram account of his own.


In Ehd-e-Wafa, Zoro is shown as the pet of Saad, a character played by Ahad Raza Mir. The Thai Golden Retriever has more than 10,000 followers on Instagram. Fans have been obsessed with the little fluff ball’s pictures and videos.

Osman Khalid Butt, Ahad Raza Mir, Ahmed Ali Akbar, and Wahaj Ali are all coming together for an army-based serial titled ‘Ehd-e-Wafa’, helmed by Saife Hassan. The drama is a rendition of the 90’s popular drama series ‘Alpha Bravo Charlie‘ and ‘Sunehray Din‘. The play has been written by Mustafa Afridi who has previously written dramas like Aangan & Sang-e-Mar Mar. It also features Zara Noor and Alizeh Khan, the love interest of Osman Khalid Butt and Ahad Raza Mir respectively.


The drama serial has been shot in Lawrence College in Murree. The aforementioned actors are the students of SSG at an academy, training to become commandos but of course, not without its struggles. “Loyalty, honesty, secrecy are the only three rules of joining the SSG,” Butt can be heard saying in the first teaser of the show.


The two episodes of the drama serial have been aired, in which a group of four boisterous boys is seen breaking the rules of their college and punished for mischievous acts. The drama seems to be a mixture of comedy with a serious story of friendship and loyalty.
