Atta Tarar promoted as special assistant to Prime Minister

He is the Deputy Secretary General of the party. Tarar is one of most vocal voices against PTI in PMLN.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) leader Atta Tarar has been promoted as the Special Assistant to Prime Minister with the status of the Federal Minister.

He shared the letter of his notification on his Twitter account on Thursday. It is not mentioned in which capacity he will be working as the advisor. “I’m extremely grateful to my leadership for appointing me as SAPM with status of Federal Minister. Alhamdulillah,” said Atta Tarar in his tweet.

He is the Deputy Secretary General of the party. Tarar also served as the Interior Minister and the Spokesperson of the Punjab Government in the cabinet of former Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz.

Tarar is one of most vocal voices against PTI in PMLN. He is often heard passing his crude and strong statements against PTI leaders. PMLN member has often attracted criticism and denunciation on social media for targeting PTI and its supporters with crass remarks. Recently his video of abusing and calling derogatory names to the supporters of PTI. He passed these remarks while addressing a rally organized to express solidarity with the former Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz.

Atta Tarar even warned the public of violent reaction if called ‘lota’ or heckled, criticized, and trolled.

Referring to the incident that took place in Marriott hotel in which a senior citizen was thrashed for allegedly calling Noor Alam Khan, a dissident member of PTI, a “turncoat,” Atta stated that “anybody who raises slogan, uses profanity or even talks in loud voice against any member of the ruling party would have to face similar consequences.”

The same leader had even made the middle-finger gesture during a Punjab Assembly session. He was forced out of the session by then Speaker Punjab Assembly Pervez Ilahi.
