Babar Azam faces furor over continous dip in performance

Sports commentators believe Babar Azam needs to perform and improve, otherwise he may be dropped from the team in future matches.

Former skipper of Pakistan Cricket Team Babar Azam is receiving flak on social media for his continuous dismal performance.

Azam has failed to play an impactful innings for Pakistan in the ongoing Test series against Bangladesh. Meanwhile, Bangladesh is at the brink of whitewashing Pakistan in the two-match Test series, currently being played in Rawalpindi.

Bangladesh defeated Pakistan in the first Test match and is looking forward to a win in the second Test match as well. Bangladesh needs 182 runs to win the match and has already scored 122 runs at the loss of two wickets.

The entire squad has failed to make the mark in this ongoing series. Fans expected Babar Azam to play a significant and impactful innings to stabilize the dwindling batting lineup as well as help Pakistan cruise to victory in the home Test series. However, he could not even score a half-century in any of the innings of the two Test matches.

His dismal performance has left fans disappointed and furious. Some believe he is going through a rough patch and he will bounce back soon. Others believe that he has lost track of his game.

With each failing performance, pressure, and criticism mount on Babar Azam. However, he has been tight-lipped about his ongoing poor performances. Sports commentators believe Babar Azam needs to perform and improve, otherwise he may be dropped from the team in future matches.

On the other hand, Shaheen Shah Afridi was also dropped from the team for his poor performance in the first Test match. He is currently spending time with his family.

However, fans of Babar Azam recall his previous performances and are questioning his consistent downfall. Responding to his form, Salman Ali Agha said:

Babar Azam is a world-class player. As a cricketer, you go through these phases. He has scored consistently throughout the last five years. Soon, we will see him scoring big runs for Pakistan again,” said Salman Ali Agha.

“As a cricketer, you have such phases in your life. There are 10 other players in the team, you should focus on them. It’s fine if he’s struggling. He will return to scoring big runs very soon,” he added.
