Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb granted the bail after a Federal Investigation Agency officer said further interrogation of Ms Bibi was not required.
The notices were issued two days after the ruling coalition government passed the 26th Constitutional Amendment, a process that started Sunday evening and concluded Monday morning (October 21).
Justice Afridi will begin his three-year term on October 26, as per a statement released by the Aiwan-e-Sadr on Wednesday. He will be the 30th Chief Justice of Pakistan.
