China vows ‘reunification’ with Taiwan, but holds off threat of force

Taiwan has come under increased military and political pressure from Beijing to accept its sovereignty but pledged to defend its freedom. As a result, Chinese President Xi Jinping vowed on Saturday to realize peaceful “reunification” with Taiwan.

Russia invites China for crunch talks with Taliban
