The social media platform has been blocked in Pakistan since February 17th, 2024 on national security concerns, just a few days after the February 8th elections in the country.
"It feels wonderful, it was a long time coming," Biden told reporters at Joint Base Andrews near Washington, where he and Harris welcomed the freed prisoners at around 11:40 pm (0340 GMT).
The BTK communications authority said in a post on its website that "instagram.com has been blocked by a decision on the date of 02/08/2024", without adding further details.
