Engin Altan Duzyatan hails Pak-Turk relations in his first interview with PTV

He said he grew up listening to the tales of a decades-long friendship between Turkey and Pakistan. Hence, Pakistan is dear to his heart, said Engin Altan Duzyatan aka Ertugrul in his first interview with PTV.

Engin Altan Duzyatan, also known as Ertugrul from Turkish serial Dirilis Ertugrul, expressed love for the people of Pakistan in his interview with PTV.

He expressed gratitude to the people of Pakistan for giving such a warm response to the Turkish serial Dirilis Ertugrul in Pakistan. The serial broke all records of popularity in Pakistan following its broadcast on PTV in May. The serial also made a YouTube record in Pakistan. He added that the cast of Dirilis Ertugrul including him got to know about the massive response to the serial in Pakistan from electronic and social media. Hence, he and the entire team of Resurrection Ertugrul is aware of the fondness of the Pakistani audience for the serial.

Turk-Pak Friendship

Duzyatan also spoke at lengths about his love and sentiments for the people of Pakistan in his interview. He said he grew up listening to the tales of a decades-long friendship between Turkey and Pakistan. Hence, Pakistan is dear to his heart. He said such a humungous reaction from the brotherly country made him emotional.

He attributed to the unprecedented popularity of Dirilis Ertugrul to the shared religion, culture, and history of Turkey and Pakistan. Engin Altan Duzyatan asserted that the serial became a raging success not only in Turkey but other parts of the world including South America, Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and the United Kingdom. However, he added that due to the shared religion of Islam and culture, the Pakistani audience resonated well with the serial, story, and the script.

He added that all the actors poured in their souls in the serial. “This drama was presented in such a way that all of us (actors) absorbed it in our souls without any difficulty,” said Engin Altan Duzyatan.

“While making Ertugrul, I came to know that the people of that time were very simple, pure-hearted, and innocent,” the actor shared in an interview with PTV.

“After learning about the people of that time, I found out that they were very sincere and had pure thinking. Modern-day human beings are not as innocent and truthful as they are, but highly pretentious. I want to see innocence, sincerity, and truth in people today, but unfortunately, such people do not see.”

Engin Altan Duzyatan: connection to Pakistan

When asked if he would accept the opportunity to work in Pakistan. He said he would consider the opportunity to work in the entertainment industry of Pakistan if he liked the script. On this occasion, he added that he had a friendly interaction with the people of Pakistan. Engin Altan Duzyatan informed that he spent time with the team of Pakistan Air Force personnel who arrived in Turkey to train them for the role of air force pilot for a Turkish movie, Anadolu Kartallari.

Engin Altan Duzyatan said that he wished to visit Pakistan soon. He is waiting for the situation to improve for traveling. He wants to visit Pakistan and interact with his fans soon.

Pakistan’s state television, PTV broadcasted the first interview of Turkish actor Engin Altan Duzyatan on Saturday, August 1st at 7:30 pm on the first day of Eid-ul-Adha in Pakistan.

Engin Altan Duzyatan had played the titular character of Ertugrul in all the five seasons of Dirilis Ertugrul-a famous Turkish series touted as Turkish Game of Thrones. The glimpses of the interview show Engin Altan aka Ertugrul will open up about his six-year-long journey of playing a powerful character of a Seljuk and Anatolian warrior- Ertugrul.
