PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry has landed himself in a controversy after his “racist” remarks regarding the Pashtun community. Journalists, along with political leaders including from PTI, have condemned the remarks and are asking Fawad Chaudhry to apologize.
According to the details, Fawad Chaudhry, while giving an interview to a private media channel, passed a crass remark related to the Pashtun nation which is being shared on social media and is going viral.
During the interview, the talk had turned to the recent claims made by the former head of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Bashir Memon that he was locked in a bathroom in the PM House.

To clarify, the elusive Hacker who has been releasing audio clips of the PM House, claimed that Bashir Memon was locked in a washroom in the PM House. Bashir Memon confirmed the claims that he was locked in a washroom in the PM House and pressurized to follow former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s orders. Ex-DG FIA had added that the then-principle secretary of PM Azam Khan grabbed his hand and locked him in the washroom.
Reacting to the claims, Fawad Chaudhry said that Bashir Memom “took a risk by going to the bathroom in the PM House with a Pathan.” The insensitive remark is going viral on social media as Fawad Chaudhry faces intense backlash.
Fawad Chaudhry faces criticism
Political leaders and members of the journalist community have condemned the remarks and are demanding that Fawad Chaudhry apologizes to the Pashtun community.

While reacting to Fawad Chaudhry’s comments on the Pashtun community, Awami National Party (ANP) leader Samar Haroon Bilour has demanded that PTI leaders make Fawad Chaudhry apologize.

PTI leaders too have condemned Fawad Chaudhry’s remarks. PTI leader and ex-MNA Sher Ali Arbab requested Fawad Chaudhry to correct his mistake.
“Fawad has done a senseless act. I condemn and request Fawad to correct himself. If this country is to progress, ethnic stereotyping and racial profiling by all should end. Including insensitive and irresponsible comments by political leaders and adventurers,” Sher Ali Arbab said.

On the other hand, KP Finance Minister Taimur Khan Jhagra, too condemned Fawad Chaudhry’s comment, however, he also got into a debate with a journalist on the short-comings of the incumbent federal government for FATA which is a predominantly Pashtun region.
