Hania Amir is garnering the support of her female counterparts from the entertainment industry as she opened up about her struggle with acne problems and the anxiety she undergoes like every common girl due to skin problems.
In an Instagram post, a few days back, she shared the picture of her face brimming with acne. She had questioned the strict beauty standards set by society and the pressure it has upon people to meet it in order to feed one’s self-esteem.
Sharing photos of her acne, she asked, “Why is my skin defining me? Who has made these beauty standards that we always feel the need to match? […] I know that the idea of being “perfect” is appealing to the majority but you don’t need to be an airbrushed flawless image to feel beautiful.”
Now following her, various actresses like Mehwish Hayat, Mahira Khan, Nadia Hussain, and Fia Khan picked up the trend and either shared their own natural-look pictures or appreciated Amir for raising the issue.
Mehwish took to Instagram to shed light on her own skin problems.
“Flawsome is awesome. Away from the studio lights, the cameras, and the glamorous makeup, we all battle with the same skin problems and insecurities as any other girl. Let’s embrace it – its called being a woman,” she captioned the picture.
Popular model Nadia Khan also re-posted her picture wearing no make-up and no filters on Instagram. “It’s been one full year since I posted this picture. Now I’m so happy to see other celebrities embrace their real self in unedited pics being proud of being flawsome and awesome,” wrote Nadia Hussain.
Mahira Khan also shared Hania Amir’s post and extended her support.
“I’m not laughing either. Nobody is! @realhaniahehe thank you and proud of you for showing courage as well as grace,” wrote Mahira Khan.
