Firdous Ashiq Awan thrashed on social media over her uncivil behavior with AC Sialkot

During her inspection of a special Ramazan Bazaar, Firdaus Ashiq Awan publicly humiliated Assistant Commissioner Sialkot (AC) Sonia Sadaf. Social media users have demanded that Dr. Ashiq Awan should apologize to AC Sonia.

Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan, Special Assistant to Chief Minister Punjab, is being slammed for humiliating female Assistant Commissioner Sialkot (AC) Sonia Sadaf publicly during her visit to a Ramzan Bazar on Sunday.

Social media users have voiced strong disapproval of Awan thrashing AC Sonia publicly in the presence of media personnel. On Sunday, Firdaus Ashiq Awan had been on an inspection of special Ramzan bazaars set up in Sialkot. While on her visit, Firdaus Ashiq Awan started abusing Assistant Commissioner for the rotten fruits being sold to people on the fruit stalls.

She disparaged Assistant Commissioner publicly for not checking the sale of rotten fruits in special Ramzan Bazaar and failing to fulfill her duty. Special Assistant further asked that who appointed her in the first place as she is incompetent and inefficient to do her duty properly.

“The government is suffering from bureaucratic machinations. If you have been appointed as the AC and drawing a salary for the purpose, then face the people. Why are you hiding?” Dr. Awan said to Sonia Sadaf. “Your actions are contradictory to that of an assistant commissioner.”

She snubbed AC Sonia Sadaf when she tried to explain the situation. Firdaus Ashiq Awan refused to hear her and continued to insult her after which AC Sonia Sadaf left the scene.

The viral video generated colossal reactions on Twitter. A large number of social media users supported AC Sonia Sadaf for calmly handling the situation and not reacting in anger. They also demanded Firdaus Ashiq Awan apologize to AC Sonia Sadaf as they argued that civil servants are not slaves but respectable employees of the state who must be dealt with respect and integrity.

Colleagues and peers from the civil service fraternity rallied behind AC Sonia Sadaf and spoke highly of her on social media. They asserted that AC Sonia Sadaf is competent, cooperative, and a helpful person and no one can question her commitment to her work.
