five rappers dropped from NYC pageant at request of police – Fox Information

Organizers of a hip-hop pageant taking location in New York this weekend stated Saturday they have dropped 5 rappers from the lineup at the ask for of law enforcement.

The New York Times reported that the performers ended up removed from the Rolling Loud festival soon after a New York Police Section formal despatched the organizers a letter citing security problems if the rappers took the stage.

The traveling Rolling Loud festival was scheduled for Saturday and Sunday at Citi Field in Queens on Saturday and Sunday and involved main acts like Wu-Tang Clan and Meek Mill.


The performers who were dropped are 22Gz, Casanova, Pop Smoke, Sheff G and Don Q. The police letter stated they “have been affiliated with modern acts of violence citywide.”

The Situations reported Rolling Loud verified receipt of the letter and claimed the artists would not conduct.

Don Q blamed “misinformation” for his removing from the competition lineup in a statement on Instagram. “I adore my metropolis and I in no way been in any gang functions or had issues at any of my prior demonstrates,” he wrote. Casanova added in the feedback that the determination “actually hurts.”

Tariq Cherif, a founder of the competition, wrote on Twitter that the canceled artists would be compensated their full booking expenses and invited to conduct at foreseeable future competition web sites.
