Former COAS General Bajwa watches Pak-Eng Test match

Last week, a few hours before his retirement, General Bajwa attended a luncheon given in honor of the national cricket team by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Former COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa was spotted watching the Pakistan-England Test match in Rawalpindi.

Picture of him at the Rawalpindi stadium is making rounds on social media. Gen Bajwa attended the match with his family. Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium is hosting the first match of the three-Test match series between Pakistan and England.

General Qamar Javed Bajwa watched the match for two hours at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Sunday. According to reports, he reached the stadium around 2 pm. Strict security arrangements were made at the stadium during his visit.

Last week, a few hours before his retirement, General Bajwa attended a luncheon given in honor of the national cricket team by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

General Qamar Javed Bajwa, COAS, stated that he always appreciated seeing Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam bat upfront. Former COAS showed keen interest in Pakistan cricket.

“Yet, I believe that there is no better T20 player than Shadab Khan who has every trick up his sleeves, required for a quality T20 player,” said Bajwa. The Chief of Army Staff stressed upon cricketers to follow discipline and work even harder. “You have made the country proud by leaving the multi-billion dollar teams behind by reaching the final. The bowlers gave their heart out in face of a low target which was exciting to watch.”

he COAS said that leadership was all about the fighting spirit. “Winning and losing hardly matters. It is the exhibition of fighting spirit, which matters the most. Once you lose, you should have the courage to accept your defeat. The one who does not learn from his mistakes could not be called a true leader.”

His pictures with the Pakistan Cricket Team and the management of the Pakistan Cricket Board were shared online. President Arif Alvi was also in attendance at the PCB event.
